As regards paragraph 7, relating to the pension of the widow of a member who se death takes place with

in a year of his marriage, the Directors are of opinion that

no change should be made in the law.

Greater precautions against false state-

ments will, as suggested in paragraph 8 of your Despatch, be

taken in future

As regards paragraph 9, the Directors

unanimously agree that the Goverment should take over the

Fund and guarantee pensions on the scale of the existing

tables. I referred this question also to my Executive Council,

whose unanimous advice was identical with the opinion of the

Directors.
